Well first off we have to say thankyou to the AMAZING SISTER GUNNELL for putting this together she did a wonderful job!! We went up to the snow with the girls. We left Friday and that night Sister Gunnell, Decocq and Aaragon gave a BEAUTIFUL fireside!! Then we had cookie and hot cocoa and danced the night away!! Saturday we woke and and had a good Morning side by Sister Mcdowell and Sister Skinner made some YUMMY cinnamon and orange rolls. Sister Skinner also gave each person a beanie and they turned out so cute!!! Then we headed off to go SLEDDING!! And we got some AMAZING PICTURES!!! I am going to do two post one with sledding pics and the other with out!!

Pamper Night!!

Sister Freeman came and taught the girls about skin care and did a WONDERFUL job and the girls LOVED it and learned how to make home made skin care!!! Then Corrine taught the girls about Nail care and Sister Gunnell taught them how to shape eyebrows. It was a great activity and what girl doesn't like to get pampered!!!

TAYLOR just turned 14 and so excited for her to be a Mia Maid now. Well on her first mutual in the Mia Maids class the Beehives made her a CANDY BOARD!! They are so AWESOME!!! It was really cute what they did!!

For mutual one night we decided to have a get to know you night and personal progress. While Sister Decocq took each girl to see how they were doing in p.p we played a fun game. Where you had to roll the dice and get doubles and then put on gloves a beanie try to open a chocolate bar with plastic knives! It was a BLAST to see how the girls did and had so much fun!

Personal Progress Fair

We had the annual Personal Progress Fair this last week and it was AWESOME!! The Stake did an AMAZING job and all the girls had a great time. They were able to pass of ALOT of personal progress!!! There were five classes that they were able to go to. They made vision boards, temple blocks, had a class on treating their Book of Mormon like their cell phone, a class of Roles of a Woman. Also our very own Emily did her 10 hour project and taught all the girls from the stake how to make hamburger deserts. Corrine taught the class as well. It was a great day and we are glad all you girls came!

Modest Fashion Shoot!

We had a MODEST FASHION SHOOT for mutual! We had some sisters from the ward come and do make up and hair. The girls brought a MODEST casual and church outfit. The Sister Robinson took professional pictures of them. They all looked so beautiful in their modest outfits! And we hope that they always remember their body is a temple and they should dress modestly. Thanks to the parents who keep their standards high for their daughters and making sure they dress Modestly!!!

Luau

For joint mutual this month we had a luau. Everyone got their own polynesian name and got dressed up. We had a best dressed contest and Evan Harris won. Way to go to our newest deacon! Then Maddie and Kiki Morris performed a hula type dance and then they taught everyone a little dance called pearly shells. Then we had a relay race. First all six people on each team had to tie their feet together and make a long human chain. Then they had to weave in and out of chairs to get to a big pile of luau clothes and accessories which they had to put on. Then they got to a table with bowls of pineapple which each person had to eat without using any hands (you'll see in the pictures some of them cheated- you know who you are). Finally, they had to make a human pyramid and get their picture taken.

After the relay race we did the limbo and then enjoyed some refreshments including Poni po po (I have no idea how to spell that right) that Vi Fardig made for us. Sooo delicious- Thank you so much Vi. It was a fun night. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially my sweetie Mia Maids and my wonderful husband who cleaned up all the pineapple mess. Here are some of the pictures I took, hopefully anyone else who brought a camera will have some more to add.

Emily turns 15!!

Emily turned 15 and we celebrated by throwing her a princess party. We played NINJA and had a blast with that. Then we played Curses. Emily had to tell everyone she constantly loved them. Poor Maddi had to make animal noises, Sara had to hold on to her card the whole time while Tori couldn't laugh with out stopping and saying "that's not funny" Brother Strong jumped in and joined the fun. These GIRLS are HILARIOUS!!! Happy Birthday Emily!!!!

For mutual this week we had a "P" party. We worked on personal progress, dressed in pink and purple and ate lots of junk food starting with a "P". We made an integrity block, challenged each other with Faith Factor and played some fun games. One group favorite was curses. I will never forget how hard I laughed when Sis. McDowell was a french speaking vampire that constantly had to dance with her hands and "pity the fool", Sis. Gunnell couldn't use any fingers, her arms got stuck to her chest and she had to repeat every last word (that is very interesting isn't it Katie) and Sis. Nay bowed and howled while protecting her lucky charms. We all just gained a lot of inside jokes, if you don't get them then you will just have to make sure you come next time. I had a blast, thanks for coming girls.

Bishop Hughes came to hang out with us for a little bit and we even got him to do a craft, which he was doing amazingly with until he got preoccupied with the whole whip cream eating contest and then he mistakenly added white paint instead of the gloss that goes on white and dries clear. It's okay bishop we still think you are amazing.

The girls did Faith factor and the two teams that did not get the original question had to compete in a challenge, this one was which team could eat a pan full of whip cream the fastest. Allyson won, but I don't think either one of them are ready to have whip cream any time soon.

At Girls Camp Ari, Emily and Hanna were in charge of having the girls play a game during rotation. So they had all the girls play ride that pony. Which was alot of fun. You dance in the middle and then at the end of the song go up to a girl and dance with her and then she goes in the middle and so on. Here are ALOT of fun picture from that!

I'm sure this is the beginning of many posts. But the girls got to go to Girls Camp this last week and from what I've heard they had a great time! Sister McDowell, Skinner and myself went up for one day to see the girls and saw what they've been up too. But Sister Gunnell, Nay, Deniston and Young will have to post to give more info of how much fun the girls had.

For mutual the Mia Maids went to Yogurt Biz which is the BEST yogurt place around here!! We were going out to say goodbye to Lauren but she ended up leaving the day early so we still went. There are a bunch of different flavors of frozen yogurt and then a bunch of different toppings from unhealthy to healthy! All of our creations below. It was a fun activity!

Baptisms at the San Diego Temple

May 30, 2009 the young men and young women went to the San Diego Temple for Baptisms for the Dead. It was an amazing experience looking into their eyes as they served in the Lord's temple and became an instrument unto those who have died. It felt as though the entire room was filled with those individuals waiting for that necessary ordinance.

Well the girls did a fundraiser that our Girls Camp Directors put together! They made Cinnamon rolls and had so much fun doing them!! The fundraiser was a GREAT idea!!! Maddie is our AMAZING baker and all the girls did a GREAT job making them!

We have a new Mia Maid and we are so EXCITED!!! Megan just turned 14, so for mutual we gave her a Nightmare Before Christmas Themed birthday party. Thanks to Sister Skinner for all the decorations it looked great. We played little kid birthday games but then put our own spin on them and had a blast. We had good food and really good cupcakes thanks Emily H for bringing them!!!

Katie Gunnell and I had the chance to go watch Lauren play Basketball and she did such a good job! It was a GREAT game and they ended up beating the other team by three points! Lauren is the captain of her Basketball team and is such a good player she is # 5!

Hanna is the goalie for her water polo team. And has been doing a great job! She had about 15 saves in the games I was able to go to! The game was also a great game for Hanna and her team did a great job!

For mutual we had a Girls vs. Boys competition. They had to learn how to tie a tie, make french toast, pump up a tire, change a babies diapers, bake, shoot a basketball and a couple of other stuff! Of coarse the girls did the BEST!!!!

Personal Progress Fair!

The Stake YW presidency put on a Personal Progress Fair! Which was A LOT of Fun! The girls had the chance to learn how to do a couple of different crafts.

Corrine and Brianna were teaching the girls how to make the Kool-aid purses! Poor Corrine re-threaded all of the machines at least ten times each!!!
